New method for taking biometric data
The Immigration authority IND needs fingerprints, passport photos and signatures in order to make a residence document and to establish someone’s identity.
From 1 January 2020, the following applies:
- For every application, a foreign national has to come to an IND desk by appointment to have their passport photo taken. In some cases, depending on the situation, fingerprints will also be taken.
- The photo card (a form for sending a passport photo to the IND by post) can now only be used for children under one year old.
